New York City’s Webster Hall will reopen this year

In August of 2017, New York’s Webster Hall shut down to allow its new owners to begin renovations. The venue, built in 1868, was sold to AEG Presents and Brooklyn Sports/Entertainment. The venue’s director of operations, Gerard McNamee, wrote in a statement, “[Webster Hall] will be closed for an undisclosed period of time for demo, reno, and transition to corporate ownership under Barclays/AEG/Bowery Presents.”

Now, it appears Webster Hall will reopen soon. On New Year’s Eve, Webster Hall posted on a social media a video captioned “see ya in 2019!”

Specifics right now are semi-unclear. The last concert at Webster Hall prior to closing was Action Bronson on August 10, 2017.
