These five songs turn 10 this year, and they still absolutely rock

Hello, 2019. You’re officially old. To celebrate our old-ness together, I’ve decided to put together a list of songs that turn ten years old this year that are still absolutely timeless.

Here we go.

All Time Low – “Weightless”

Maybe it’s not my weekend, but it’s gonna be my year. The perfect song that screams optimism. From All Time Low’s hit album, Nothing Personal, the track opens the album. It catapulted them even farther in their already-promising career. And here we are, ten years later, and the song still screams as loudly as it did then.

fun. – “All The Pretty Girls”

RIP. fun.‘s 2009 iconic album, Aim & Ignite, is the perfect soundtrack for any situation. And “All The Pretty Girls” is relaxing, fun to hear, enjoyable, and a song filled with nostalgia. Heck, it almost reminisces of some earlier Queen.

Boys Like Girls – “Love Drunk”

Yet again, RIP. “Love Drunk” is definitely Boys Like Girls‘ best song. I don’t care what you say. I used to be love drunk, but now I’m hungover. The words just ring bells in your ear.

Every Avenue – “Mindset”

Ah, yes. Every Avenue‘s Picture Perfect. If I even think about this album, I just keep thinking about this band. “Mindset” is a historic pop-punk jam that will always go down as incredible, and having supreme relevance. Just listen, see for yourself.

Green Day – “Last of the American Girls”

When you think of Green Day, naming 21st Century Breakdown as one of Green Day’s best albums isn’t usually the protocol. But it most certainly is. And “Last of the American Girls” is definitely an underrated song in the Green Day collection. It blends the band’s pop-punk roots as well as their ability to write a hook as good as anyone else.
